Job Responsibilities :
Act as Commodity Manager with specific focus in the region Asia Pacific ( China )and specific regional tasks
Responsible for Rolling Bearing Accessories commodity
The regional scope include Mainland China, Taiwan and Japan
Observe and analyze the market of the assigned region, taking care of maintaining the “supplier list” of the region regarding his / her scope of commodities
Set up regional purchasing strategy of assigned commodity, considering the targets of the global commodity management, product line purchasing and supplier development management, comply with targets set by the Executive Management
Fulfill the regional commodity strategy and keep control over the costs of assigned commodities
Document and follow up the necessary activities to fulfill the strategy by appropriate means according to the actual set of tools, purchasing projects
Prepare and execute negotiations / price talks and inform the global Commodity Manager
Handle contracts with the suppliers in coordination with the global Commodity Manager, non-disclosure agreements, quality assurance, agreements, general purchasing terms, master agreements, and others
Handle the exchange of drawings and specifications with the suppliers according to regional guidelines, using “contract reviews’
Improve constantly the material supply chain in coordination with Commodity Management, Product Line Purchasing, Plant Purchasing and Supplier Development Management
In coordination with the Product Line Purchasing, identify products that could sensibly be subjected to a make or buy analysis. The decision is made by relevant Product Line
In collaboration with Commodity Management, Supplier Development Management, Product Line Purchasing and Technical Departments, select new suppliers for commodity
Report according to the regional reporting guidelines
Visit, evaluate and audit suppliers with the team
Drive cost down projects as the suppliers and involve the appropriate team, value analysis, decrease of technical requirements
Act as a focal point of communication for suppliers / commodity. Lead a task force and execute trouble shooting in case of delivery problems, support in case of quality problems
Visit relevant fairs, conferences and congresses
Prepare and participate on customer audits for purchasing department
Job Requirements:
Above Bachelor degree with Engineering background
Minimum 8 years experience as technologist or in sourcing sub-assemblies like bearings, bearing accessories and systems within bearing industry
Good sourcing experience
Good negotiation skills
Capable to manage complex projects
Good communication skills on an international basis
