Job Description
This position is in Wuxi, China, as senior engineer of hydraulics routing for heavy construction or mining machines, including wheel loaders, motor graders, track-type-tractor, and other products manufactured in China.
The incumbent will provide technical leadership and expertise for the concept, design and development of electrical systems installations on machines, such as routing, wiring, lighting component placement/mounting and integration of the electrical systems into the machine.
The incumbent will utilize the methodology of 6 Sigma and project management to manage a high volume of New Product Introduction (NPI), Current Product Improvements (CPI), and maintenance activity on past, current and future product generations.
The incumbent is accountable for meeting time, cost and quality target of the design that he/she is responsible for. These tasks include (not limited to) follows aspects:
1) Create and maintain system level functional and technical specifications and cost targets. Develop conceptual and finished designs.
2) Communicate system performance requirements to component and system design personnel, with suppliers and with technical support agencies.
3) Set validation criteria.
4) Define and oversee test/validation plans. Provide technical expertise toward the resolution of shop and field problems.
5) Create and maintain project management / resource management plans utilizing sound project management principles.
6) Coach and lead junior engineers.
Requirements
5-8 years experience in electrical systems installations on machines.
A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
Machine or system design or development experience in combination with strong technical, and communication skills are required.
The candidate must interact effectively with coworkers and others, and be capable of executing projects from beginning through end.
Knowledge and ability to apply company specific engineering standards and industry design standards and specifications. Experience in Pro/Engineer is a must.
English speaking/writing skills is a plus.
